Emily Blundell Owers (b.1998) is a London-born and based artist working across drawing and printmaking.
She is devoted to a material process of flux, unexpected texture and a feeling of push and pull across the surface as she works; patina of the ancient and aged made new.
Her pictures are structures of reference and relations, drawing from life and imagination together to interpret and generate questions around sexuality, surrender, misdirection, and mysticism. Psychic self-exposure and obscurity dance hand in hand (and often with two left feet).
She is currently studying at the Royal Drawing School, on their postgraduate programme, the Drawing Year. Previously, she completed a BA in English from King’s College London, graduating in 2020.
